Warm Hands
Warm Hands, Warm Heads, Warm Hearts
Warm Heads, Warm Hands, Warm Hearts is our chance to provide hats, mittens and gloves to members of our own community. By partnering with other Rotarians in the District, we can buy hundreds, thousands of hats and gloves at very low cost, and distribute them to needy individuals in Eden Prairie. This program was started by one Rotarian who saw a need in his community, and now it has spread throughout central Minnesota.
This project is led by the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside, and was launched in 1993. Since then, the project has distributed over 500,000 hats and mittens to those in need from all walks of life. Distribution is generally through schools, churches, shelters and other organizations.
2024 Update
In 2024 9,000 hats and gloves were received and sorted to distribute to 17 area Rotary Clubs for subsequent donation to area schools and other organizations.
In October of 2024 the Eden Prairie Noon Rotary contributed $500 and purchased 6 dozen hats and 8 dozen ski gloves that were donated to Immanuel Lutheran Church for distribution through Loaves and Fishes, providing comfort and warmth for people experiencing homelessness in Minnesota.
